Dr. Andrew Cope grew up on a horse farm in Lexington, NC. His interest in veterinary medicine began at a
young age while being exposed to various farm animals and following his father around the veterinary hospital,
(some of you may know him, the “original” Dr. Cope). Dr. Andrew received his undergraduate degree from
NC State University in 2008. He received his veterinary degree from Ross University (located on the island
of St. Kitts, West Indies) in 2016 after completing his clinical training at the University of Tennessee.
He worked at a mixed animal practice for 2 years in Sevierville, TN before joining Lexington Veterinary Associates
and moving “home” in February 2018. His passion as a veterinarian is to provide the best medicine to his patients
while treating clients and staff like family. He is married to Dr. Emily Cope (PhD in Animal Nutrition) and
welcomed their first child, Andrew “Wyatt” in June 2018, their second child "Eli" William ,
April of 2020 and his third son Samuel "Davis" on December 25, 2021.
He has a chocolate lab named Penny. In his free time, he enjoys spending
time with his family, playing guitar at church, and anything sports related.
